- John was great to work with on a unique table and chairs for our daughter and son-in-law. Our daughter lives in Seattle. When they came her for the holidays John and his wife sat with the two them to clarify what they wanted. This discussion continued on when they went back to Seattle. The results were a dining room outfit they love and it looks beautiful! It was a pleasure working with John and i recommend him strongly for woodwork. - John Asztalos of Hollow Hill Woodworks recently made a 5' square kitchen Island for us. He listened to what we wanted and made some great suggestions to improve our plan. The craftsmanship is extraordinary. He matched our existing cabinets perfectly and the finish is as smooth as silk. The drawers work beautifully. It is such a pleasure to have this piece of furniture in our kitchen. He also made a 5' square butcher block for the top. It is very solid and cleans like a dream . He is the only person we will call for future woodworking projects. He also made a mission style buffet for us years ago that gets compliments all the time.

- I purchased two tables from Hollow Hill Woodworks to complement several Stickley pieces we own. John and Jorn Asztalos were excellent to work with, giving a lot of personal attention and sending several stain samples to ensure we received exactly what we wanted. Indeed we did! The craftsmanship and quality are immediately evident. I may even like these better than my Stickley pieces, because I felt part of the process and even met John when I went to pick the tables up (my choice). This is extremely high quality work at affordable prices. Of all the people I've done business with in the past 10 years or so, I can't think of another company I'd recommend more highly than Hollow Hill Woodworks. I hope John and Jorn Asztalos are in business for a long, long time and I have the chance to buy additional pieces from them!

John and Jorn are a great team. I had a vague idea of wanting an armchair for my in-laws, and found Hollow Hill Woodworks through a recommendation of Michigan fine woodworkers. John and Jorn spent a good deal of time meeting with me to understand what I had in mind, and then turned those original vague ideas into an amazing reality. My in-laws are thrilled, my wife is thrilled, and naturally I am thrilled as well. The chair is beautiful, and if I can ever get a turn to sit in it I bet it's comfortable too!
